Welcome to the bioelectronics and nanosystem lab

Our lab mainly focus on integrating bio-material, nano materials and semiconductor devices together to explore a new research area : bioelectronics and bionanotechnology. Bioelectronics includes developing electronic sensors and bio-molecular devices, and understanding the electrical and optical properties of bio-molecules. Biosensor, chemical sensors and gas sensors can be used in health care, disease diagnostic, environmental monitoring, energy, and security etc. The study in bio-molecular devices not only can achieve a nano-scaled electronic device, but also can contribute to the understanding of the fundamental properties of these bio-molecules. The bionanotechnology starts from assembling biomolecules, chemicals, or nano materials toward to the realization of biomotors, bio-molecular wires, bio-machine or other applications in medicine. These technologies combine traditional top-down micro-fabrication technique and the bottomup self-assembly method to complete the research goal. Semiconductor device is also one of the cores in our research because it provides the platform for our sensors and new materials study.Because our research programs deal simultaneously with the physics and chemistry of semiconductor, biomolecules and nanomaterials, the physics of semiconductor devices, as well as the development of novel processing strategies for micro and nanoengineered materials synthesis and device manufacturing, I would welcome researchers who are interested in our interdisciplinary research to join us. Researchers from various majors such as chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, materials science, biology, or medicine are all welcome. I would also like to have synergistic collaborations with industrial partners or faculty members from all over the world.
